Jim attended the University of California, Santa Barbara where he studied writing with Raymond Carver. He graduated with honors from the University of Southern California law school, and has written over 300 articles and several books for the legal profession. He has taught novel writing at Pepperdine University and numerous conferences in the United States, Canada and Great Britain.

His short fiction has appeared in two anthologies and he is currently at work on two series: pulp style boxing stories featuring Irish Jimmy Gallagher and the vigilante nun series Force of Habit.

Under the pen name K. Bennett he is also the author of the Mallory Caine zombie legal thriller series, which begins with Pay Me in Flesh.

He is the purveyor of short and to the point Writing Videos.

Jim served as fiction columnist for Writer’s Digest magazine, to which he frequently contributes, and has written four craft books for Writer’s Digest Books: Plot & Structure, Revision & Self-Editing, The Art of War for Writers and Conflict & Suspense. His Write Your Novel From The Middle was an instant #1 Amazon bestselling writing book.

Karen Ball

karen ballKaren Ball has been in publishing for over 30 years, serving as an executive and acquisitions editor, building fiction lines for Tyndale, Multnomah, Zondervan, and B&H Publishing Group. Karen is also owner of Karen Ball Publishing Services, LLC, a literary agent with the prestigious Steve Laube Agency, and the co-creator of Write from the Deep and Live from the Deep with Erin Taylor Young, and a popular speaker and podcaster. She’s had the honor of acquiring and working with some of the best writers in the industry, including Francine Rivers, Karen Kingsbury, Brandilyn Collins, Ginny Yttrup, Robin Jones Gunn, Terri Blackstock, and many others. Karen’s own books have received awards, including the Reader’s Choice award and the ACFW award for the Best Inspirational Novel of the Year, and one of her novels was a finalist for the Christy Award for Excellence in Writing. Shannon Ethridge

Shannon Ethridge is an international speaker and award-winning author of 22 books including the million-copy best-selling Every Woman’s Battle series, The Sexually Confident Wife, and The Fantasy Fallacy.  She holds a master’s degree in counseling/human relations from Liberty University and has spoken for over 20 years to youth, college students, and adults about… well… let’s just say “all-things-sexual.”  Her passions include challenging adults and teens to embrace a life of sexual integrity, encouraging married couples in their pursuit of sexual and emotional fulfillment, equipping parents to instill sexual values in children at an early age and coaching women who have looked for love in all the wrong places (through her Women at the Well 4-day Intensive Workshops).

Karen Porter

Rene Gutteridge

Rene Gutteridge is the award-winning and best-selling author of twenty-one novels, including her latest releases Misery Loves Company (suspense), Greetings from the Flipside (comedy) and Heart of the Country (drama). Melanie Hemry

melanie-hemry-300A former intensive care nurse, Melanie Hemry traded in her stethoscope for a computer and soon won the coveted Guideposts Writing Contest. A contributing writer for Guideposts for many years, Melanie’s stories have warmed the hearts of readers around the world, and some have been picked up by Reader’s Digest for worldwide distribution. In addition to hundreds of magazine articles, Melanie has 36 published books to her credit, six under her own name and 30 which she ghosted for other people. A few of her titles include A Healing Touch, Hugs for Single Moms, and the four books in the Anointing series which she co-authored with Gina Lynnes.  Wesley Fryer

wes-fryerDr. Wesley Fryer is a classroom STEM teacher, digital learning consultant, author, digital storyteller, and change agent. He teaches 4th and 5th grade STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) at Independence Elementary in Yukon Public Schools in Oklahoma. Wesley earned his Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas Tech University in 2011. He is the author of three books on using multimedia to support learning. Wes became a Google Certified Teacher in 2009, was named an Apple Distinguished Educator in 2005, and is a 2014 PBS Digital Innovator.
